THE UNIT

It was not carved, manufactured, or assembled. It formed naturally—an almost rectangular, palm-sized crystal shaped strangely like a pocket lighter.

Nobody knows what The Unit is made from. Its substance matches no known element, and its violet-blue interior appears to bend light, matter, and space. It has no controls, seams, markings, or obvious function.

Is it a fragment? A power source? A tool?

For now, it is simply known as The Unit.
